What to Expect During a
Professional Window Cleaning

First time hiring? Here's exactly what happens, step by step. No surprises.

If you've never hired a professional window cleaner, the process can feel unclear. What do they actually do? How long does it take? Do you need to be home? What if it rains?

Here's the complete timeline — from booking to the moment you see your home with crystal-clear windows for the first time.

The Full Timeline

DAY OF BOOKING

1. You Request a Quote

You fill out our online form or call (416) 206-3274. We ask about your home: how many storeys, approximate number of windows, any special concerns (hard water stains, construction residue, screens). You'll receive a flat-rate quote — usually within 1-2 hours. No hidden fees, no "once we're there it'll cost more" surprises.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

2. Confirmation & Prep

We confirm your appointment the evening before via text. You'll get a 2-hour arrival window (e.g., "between 9 and 11 AM"). On our end, we're loading equipment, checking weather, and routing our day.

ARRIVAL (MINUTE 0)

3. We Arrive & Assess

We text you "on our way" 15 minutes before arrival. At your home, we do a quick walkthrough: check window count matches the quote, identify any issues (cracked seals, damaged screens, stubborn stains), and note accessibility for each side of the house. If anything changes from the original quote, we tell you before starting.

MINUTES 5-10

4. Setup

We set up our ClearCoat™ purified water system and equipment. For exterior only: we work around the outside of your home with water-fed poles (no ladder needed for most windows up to 3 storeys). For interior: we lay down protective drop cloths under each window area.

THE CLEANING (60-180 MINUTES)

5. The Actual Cleaning

Exterior: Each window is scrubbed with soft bristle brush and ClearCoat™ purified water (0 mg/L minerals), agitated to loosen dirt and mineral deposits, then rinsed with purified water. The water evaporates leaving zero residue — no squeegeeing needed for water-fed pole cleaning.

Interior: Each window is cleaned with professional-grade squeegee technique — wet, scrub, squeegee, detail edges with microfibre cloth. Sills and tracks are wiped clean. Screens are removed, cleaned, and reinstalled.

Frames & sills: We wipe down exterior frames and sills as part of the service. Dirty frames drip onto clean glass — we prevent that.

NEAR THE END

6. Before/After Photos

We photograph results for our records and your reference. These are useful for insurance documentation, rental property records, or simply appreciating the transformation. Sent to you via text.

COMPLETION

7. Walkthrough & Payment

If you're home, we do a walkthrough together — you check every window. If anything doesn't meet your standard, we redo it on the spot. No arguing, no "that's normal." If you're not home (exterior only), we text you completion photos and you can inspect at your leisure. Payment: e-transfer, cash, or card.

AFTER

8. The 48-Hour Guarantee

Inspect your windows over the next 48 hours. Spots we missed? Streaks visible in certain light? A window we couldn't reach? Text us. We come back and fix it free. No questions. Full guarantee details →

What to Prepare (5 Minutes)

Exterior Only

  • Move patio furniture 2-3 feet from the house
  • Ensure gate access to backyard (unlock or leave code)
  • Move planters away from windows
  • Secure or bring in pets
  • Close windows (we're using water outside)

Interior + Exterior

  • Everything above, plus:
  • Move fragile items off windowsills
  • Pull curtains/blinds to one side
  • Clear 2-foot space around each window
  • Someone home to let us in (or leave a key code)
  • Don't pre-clean — that's what we're here for
Don't worry about: Cleaning beforehand (we handle all dirt levels), being home for exterior only (we text updates), rain in the forecast (ClearCoat™ windows handle rain beautifully), or having "too many" or "too dirty" windows. We've seen everything. Nothing surprises us.

Common First-Timer Questions

"Will the cleaner come inside my home?"

Only if you book interior + exterior. For exterior only, we work entirely outside. For interior work, we respect your space — shoes off or booties on, drop cloths down, and we only access window areas.

"What if a window gets damaged?"

We carry $2M liability insurance. If we crack a seal, break glass, or damage a screen (extremely rare with professional technique), our insurance covers full replacement. You're never out of pocket for our work.

"Why is purified water better than squeegee?"

Traditional squeegee technique is excellent for interior glass. For exterior, ClearCoat™ water-fed poles are superior because: (1) no ladder needed for most homes (safer), (2) purified water leaves zero mineral residue (GTA water leaves mineral film), (3) frames and sills are cleaned simultaneously, (4) results last 3-5x longer. "How often should I book?"

Most GTA homeowners do well with 2x/year (spring + fall). If you have: heavy tree canopy → 3x/year. Lakefront/highway proximity → 3-4x/year. New construction nearby → monthly during build. Allergies → 3x/year for allergen control. See Year-Round plans →
