The short answer
Professional Christmas light installation in Brampton costs $6.00 to $10.00 per linear foot of roofline depending on how high the roof edge is, with a $500 minimum job. Most Brampton homes work out to roughly $1,600 for the season, and that price includes installation, every repair during the season, January takedown and off-season storage of your lights.
If a quote you are comparing looks dramatically cheaper, check two things: whether it includes takedown, and whether you are buying the lights. Those two line items are where most of the difference between quotes actually lives.
| What we light | Rate |
|---|---|
| Roofline — single storey | $6.00 / linear ft |
| Roofline — two storey or steep pitch | $8.00 / linear ft |
| Roofline — three storey or upper peaks | $10.00 / linear ft |
| Large job bump (over 250 ft, any height) | + $0.50 / ft |
| Tree wrap — small / medium / large | $75 / $150 / $275 |
| Bushes | $35 each |
| Wreath hung / garland | $40 / $25 per ft |
| Columns or pillars wrapped | $60 each |
| Walkway stakes | $12 each (min. 10) |
| Minimum job | $500 |
What it costs on real Brampton houses
Castlemore and the Vales are large-frontage two- and three-storey homes on wide lots with stone elevations and double garages — big linear footage per house. Credit Valley and Springdale are newer two-storeys, closely spaced, with front gables that light up well as a row.
| Home | Roofline | Season price |
|---|---|---|
| Small bungalow or semi, front roofline only | 100 ft | $600 |
| Typical Brampton single storey | 140 ft | $840 |
| Typical Brampton two storey | 200 ft | $1,600 |
| Large two storey, front and side | 260 ft | $2,210 |
| Three storey with upper peaks | 300 ft | $3,150 |
Most Brampton homes we quote come in around 200 linear feet at the two-storey rate, which works out to roughly $1,600 for the season including takedown and storage. Trees, columns and walkway stakes are added on top of the roofline number.
The three things that move your price
1. Height, not square footage
Pricing follows the roof edge, not the size of the house. A sprawling single-storey bungalow with 160 feet of low roofline costs less than a narrow three-storey with 160 feet of edge at twenty-five feet up, because the tall one needs a bigger ladder, more repositioning and a second person. This is the single biggest factor and it surprises most people.
2. How many peaks you have
Every gable on the front face has two sloped edges and both get lit. A house with three front peaks can carry 40 or 50 more linear feet than a house of the same width with a simple straight run. When homeowners underestimate their own footage, peaks are almost always the reason.
3. Everything that is not the roof
Tree wraps ($75 to $275 each), bushes ($35), wrapped columns ($60) and walkway stakes ($12) are added on top of the roofline figure. On larger Brampton properties these can be a third of the total — and on a heavily treed lot, wrapping two mature trees often does more for the look of the house from the street than extending the roofline does.
How to measure your own roofline in two minutes
You do not need a ladder and you do not need us to come out. Stand at the curb and count the sections of roof edge you want lit, then pace each one — one normal stride is close enough to three feet. Add the sections together. That number times the rate above is your price, and it is almost always within 10% of what we quote on the phone.
- Count the peaks. Every gable on the front face has two sloped edges, and both get lit. This is the number most people forget, and it is usually where an estimate goes 30 or 40 feet light.
- Decide front-only or wrap-around. Front-only is what most Brampton homes get. Returning down the sides adds footage but makes the house read as lit from down the street.
- Note your storeys. If the roof edge is above the second-floor windows it is the two-storey rate, because it is a taller ladder and a second person.
- Look at your eaves colour. White or brown. We match the socket wire to it so the line disappears in daylight.
What should be included in any quote you accept
Prices across the GTA are not quoted on the same basis, which makes comparison genuinely hard. Before you compare two numbers, make sure both include all of this:
- Takedown in January. Ask directly. A quote that covers installation only will be followed by a removal invoice in January, often $150 to $300.
- Off-season storage. Otherwise the boxes come back to your garage and you are responsible for them until next November.
- In-season repairs. Bulbs do fail. Ask whether a callout in mid-December costs you anything.
- Who owns the lights. If you are buying them, the first-year price should be higher and the second-year price much lower. If the installer owns them, the price should stay level.
- Proof of insurance. Anyone working at height on your property should be able to produce a certificate without hesitating.
- The bulb spec in writing. "Warm white" is not a specification. Ask for the Kelvin number — 2700K is warm, 4000K is not.
What actually goes on your house
There is a wide gap between what a big-box set does and what a commercial install uses, and it shows most in year two. Here is our spec, exactly:
- Commercial C9 LED, 2700K warm white. "Warm white" is an unregulated phrase — some sellers run 4000K, which reads cold blue against brick. We specify the Kelvin number. 2700K is the warm, incandescent-looking bulb you see on the houses that look expensive.
- One-piece sealed bulbs, faceted lens. Two-piece bulbs let water into the lens seam and start failing in season two or three. Ours are sealed.
- Full-wave rectified. Cheap LED strings flicker on camera. Yours will photograph properly.
- Cut to fit your roofline. Socket wire is cut to your house and bulbed on a workbench, not improvised on a ladder in the cold. Every run ends exactly where the roof does.
- Wire matched to your eaves. White wire on white fascia, brown on brown. In daylight the line should disappear — that is the professional tell.
- No nails, screws or adhesive. Clips only, sized to your fascia, gutter or shingle. Nothing is drilled into your house.

Common questions about Brampton Christmas light pricing
What is the average cost of Christmas light installation in Brampton?
Most Brampton homes land between $600 and $1,600 for the season. The typical Brampton roofline is about 200 linear feet, which at the two-storey rate comes to roughly $1,600. Smaller bungalows start at the $500 minimum; large three-storey homes with trees and columns can reach $3,000 or more.
Is takedown and storage extra?
Not with MANTLE. The quoted price is one seasonal number covering design, installation, in-season repairs, January takedown and off-season storage. Be careful comparing quotes on this point, because many companies quote installation only and bill removal separately in January.
Why is two storey more expensive than single storey?
A two-storey roof edge needs a taller ladder, more repositioning and a second person on site for safety. That is why the rate moves from $6.00 to $8.00 per linear foot, and to $10.00 for three storey or upper peaks. It is a labour and risk difference, not a materials one.
Do I pay the whole amount up front?
No. A 50% deposit books your install date and covers the material cut for your house. The balance is due on completion of the install.
Is it cheaper to buy my own lights and have someone hang them?
Usually not, once you count two or three seasons. Retail light sets are moulded and cannot be cut to your roofline, so they never fit properly, and they typically fail within two or three winters. Our price includes commercial C9 bulbs we own, maintain and replace, plus storage.
Does the price change in year two?
The rate stays the same, and your strands are already cut to your house and sitting in our storage. Rebooking is one phone call, and the install is faster because the design is already made.
