Christmas Light Installation Cost in Pickering

Real per-foot rates, worked examples by house size, and the three things that actually move the number. No form to fill in to see a price.

Typical Pickering home: $1,440 for the full season, takedown and storage included

The short answer

Professional Christmas light installation in Pickering costs $6.00 to $10.00 per linear foot of roofline depending on how high the roof edge is, with a $500 minimum job. Most Pickering homes work out to roughly $1,440 for the season, and that price includes installation, every repair during the season, January takedown and off-season storage of your lights.

If a quote you are comparing looks dramatically cheaper, check two things: whether it includes takedown, and whether you are buying the lights. Those two line items are where most of the difference between quotes actually lives.

What it costs on real Pickering houses

Rosebank and Rougemount are mature, treed, lakeside-adjacent streets with wide single and two-storey homes. Amberlea and Liverpool are solid 1980s and 1990s two-storeys. Claremont to the north is rural and large — long frontages, long driveways, and walkway stakes that actually earn their keep.

Most Pickering homes we quote come in around 180 linear feet at the two-storey rate, which works out to roughly $1,440 for the season including takedown and storage. Trees, columns and walkway stakes are added on top of the roofline number.

The three things that move your price

1. Height, not square footage

Pricing follows the roof edge, not the size of the house. A sprawling single-storey bungalow with 160 feet of low roofline costs less than a narrow three-storey with 160 feet of edge at twenty-five feet up, because the tall one needs a bigger ladder, more repositioning and a second person. This is the single biggest factor and it surprises most people.

2. How many peaks you have

Every gable on the front face has two sloped edges and both get lit. A house with three front peaks can carry 40 or 50 more linear feet than a house of the same width with a simple straight run. When homeowners underestimate their own footage, peaks are almost always the reason.

3. Everything that is not the roof

Tree wraps ($75 to $275 each), bushes ($35), wrapped columns ($60) and walkway stakes ($12) are added on top of the roofline figure. On larger Pickering properties these can be a third of the total — and on a heavily treed lot, wrapping two mature trees often does more for the look of the house from the street than extending the roofline does.

How to measure your own roofline in two minutes

You do not need a ladder and you do not need us to come out. Stand at the curb and count the sections of roof edge you want lit, then pace each one — one normal stride is close enough to three feet. Add the sections together. That number times the rate above is your price, and it is almost always within 10% of what we quote on the phone.

What should be included in any quote you accept

Prices across the GTA are not quoted on the same basis, which makes comparison genuinely hard. Before you compare two numbers, make sure both include all of this:

What actually goes on your house

There is a wide gap between what a big-box set does and what a commercial install uses, and it shows most in year two. Here is our spec, exactly:

Why we do not offer colour choices. We install warm white C9 as standard. Coloured bulbs cut to one roofline cannot be reused anywhere else, which is what makes multi-coloured displays so expensive everywhere else. Standardising on one premium warm white is how the price above stays where it is.

How it works

1

Phone quote, same day

No site visit needed. Give us the address and tell us single or two storey — we pull up your roofline and quote you on the call.

2

50% deposit books it

Your deposit buys the material cut for your house and locks your install date on the Pickering route.

3

Install

Strands arrive pre-bulbed and pre-clipped. Most homes are done in a single visit, and we test the full display before leaving.

4

Repairs included

Anything goes out between install and New Year, we come back and fix it. No charge, no argument.

5

January takedown

We pull everything down in January and take it with us. Nothing goes in your garage.

6

Stored for next year

Your strands are labelled and stored. Next season they already fit, so rebooking is one phone call.

Book gutters and lights together. We are on the same roofline for both, so if your Pickering gutters need clearing before the snow, doing it on the same visit saves you a second appointment — and clear gutters are what the light clips attach to anyway.

Common questions about Pickering Christmas light pricing

What is the average cost of Christmas light installation in Pickering?

Most Pickering homes land between $600 and $1,600 for the season. The typical Pickering roofline is about 180 linear feet, which at the two-storey rate comes to roughly $1,440. Smaller bungalows start at the $500 minimum; large three-storey homes with trees and columns can reach $3,000 or more.

Is takedown and storage extra?

Not with MANTLE. The quoted price is one seasonal number covering design, installation, in-season repairs, January takedown and off-season storage. Be careful comparing quotes on this point, because many companies quote installation only and bill removal separately in January.

Why is two storey more expensive than single storey?

A two-storey roof edge needs a taller ladder, more repositioning and a second person on site for safety. That is why the rate moves from $6.00 to $8.00 per linear foot, and to $10.00 for three storey or upper peaks. It is a labour and risk difference, not a materials one.

Do I pay the whole amount up front?

No. A 50% deposit books your install date and covers the material cut for your house. The balance is due on completion of the install.

Is it cheaper to buy my own lights and have someone hang them?

Usually not, once you count two or three seasons. Retail light sets are moulded and cannot be cut to your roofline, so they never fit properly, and they typically fail within two or three winters. Our price includes commercial C9 bulbs we own, maintain and replace, plus storage.

Does the price change in year two?

The rate stays the same, and your strands are already cut to your house and sitting in our storage. Rebooking is one phone call, and the install is faster because the design is already made.
